Christmas is just around the corner, and
Valencia offers multiple leisure and fun plans for everyone in the city during those days. We propose some plans and traditions to spend this Christmas in the
capital of Turia.
One of the most demanded activities in the Christmas campaign is
ice skating. Spending the afternoons sliding, doing tricks, and taking more than one fall down the ice rink, has become a
classic. This year you can enjoy
winter skating on the slopes of
Nuevo Centro, the ice rink
Fun On Ice, near
Bonaire, and the famous
Town Hall Square rink.
Walking through the streets of the city during these dates is also a good plan to spend an entertaining afternoon. The City Council has placed
12 large Christmas trees in different neighborhoods of the city. You can enjoy the
peculiar lighting of the city center, the
varied exhibitions of nativity scenes or the
different markets and
Christmas fairs. One of the busiest fairs during these days is the
Christmas Craft Fair, located in the
Plaza de la Reina, which has the best
handmade products from Valencia.
Like every year, the classic
San Silvestre Race is also celebrated, a fun sporting event for running dressed up as Santa Claus. This last race of the year takes place on Monday, December 30 through the streets of downtown Valencia.
The last night of the year also has a
special program in Valencia. You can hear
live bells and enjoy the entrance of the year with the best party possible. The beginning of the new year will be carried out by a
pyrotechnic show that will be followed by a poster of
dj’s from the area that will make you dance until the body endures. And if that is not enough, the party will be accompanied by a
light show.
Nor can you miss the
Three Kings Cavalcade, an essential date to say goodbye to the Christmas holidays. This year the theme of this emblematic parade will be ecology, the environment and sustainability. Different floats, dances and a multitude of people parading, will brighten the streets from
Passeig de l’Albereda to Marqués de Sotelo.
Let yourself be carried away by the Christmas atmosphere of the city and wake up the magic inside.
